Jain Meguti Temple, one of the temples having a place with Galaganatha Group of Temples, is arranged on a ridge in Aihole, on a raised stage. According to the engravings on the temple, this hallowed place was developed in 634 AD by Ravikeerthi, an authority and clergyman of Pulakesin II.
The temple stayed incomplete; by and by, the carvings of this temple are more refined than those of different temples of that period. A colossal icon of Lord Mahavira in a sitting stance and somewhat deformed yet rich figure of Goddess Ambika are cherished inside the sanctuary. At present, this temple, built without applying mortar, is in a crushed state, however shows Dravidian style of design.
