Mathoor Hanging Bridge

Mathoor Hanging Bridge or Mathoor Hanging Trough or Mathur Aqueduct is a well known place of vacation spot in Kanyakumari. Mathoor Hanging Bridge is arranged in Aruvikkarai town of Thiruvattar Panchayat of Kanyakumari District. Mathoor Hanging Bridge is considered as the longest and tallest water system in Asia. It was developed in the year 1966 over the River Parazhiyar.

This extension has a stature of around 35.2 meters and a length of around 1 km. The trough called as Pattanamkal waterway, conveys water from one a player in the slope to the opposite side of the slope. The waterway has a stature of around 2.1 meters and a width of around 2.9 meters and is upheld by 28 columns. Mathoor Hanging Bridge was developed for dry season alleviation and horticultural help for the nearby taluks of Vilavancode and Kalkulam.
