At a separation of 28 Kms from Pathanamthitta, Mahadeva Temple otherwise called Thrikkaviyoor Mahadeva Temple situated in Kaviyoor is a prevalent temple committed to Lord Siva worked in mid tenth century. It is one of the most established Siva Temples in Kerala. The design of the temple is one of a kind and alluring. There are two engravings on the storm cellar of the principle sanctum dated 950 and 951 AD.
The yearly celebration is praised for 10 days in the Malayalam month of Dhanu December/January, which is called 'Thiruvutsavam'. A Hanuman Temple is likewise situated in the sanctuary complex. Hanuman Jayanthi, the birth commemoration of Lord Hanuman is likewise celebrated in a fabulous way.
