Kurupam Tomb, which has some unpredictable carvings on sandstone with Dravidian, Mughal, European, and North Indian culture and styles reflecting in them, is confronting a grave threat from flat buildings being built nearby supposedly disregarding Coastal Regulation Zone standards. The tomb, a 'legacy site' which is over 100 years of age, has not been secured and nearby organizers of the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority in spite of placing it in the ensured Coastal Management Zone according to Master Plan G.O.MS. No.345 of June 30, 2006, did not effectively stop developments inside stipulated separate, Forum for Sustainable Development FSD S. Bhujanga Rao has said.
