About Kedar Ghat

Kedar Ghat is one of the maximum visited religious ghats of Varanasi, as it adjoins the Branch Math of Kedar Math. Sri Vidyaranya Swami, way returned in 14th century mounted a Chandramouleeshwara Shivalinga at the Math in Varanasi. The Kedar Math Varanasi is characterised with the aid of an ancient temple that houses shrines of Sri Maha Ganapati, Sri Sharadamba and Sri Adishankaracharya. The temple and its shrines had been renovated through Maharani of Burdwan- Radha Rani Devi. The Kedar Ghat houses the Gauri Kund, a small water pool which has an picture of Gauri, Lord Shiva’s wife within the eastern wall.
It is stated that the water on this kund has recovery homes. The Kedareswara Shiva Temple, on the Kedar Ghat has great mythological significance and it's miles believed that all people who visits this temple receives advantages because the same after traveling Kedarnath Temple. According to mythology, the Kedar Ghat turned into the unique web site of Manikarnika Ghat and the Gauri Kunda on the ghat steps is known as “Adi Manikarnika”. These riverfront steps are referred to as best of the showering tirthas in Kashi. Kedareshvara is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. A pucca ghat was constructed at this spot by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 1958.
