Kanjanur Temple

The Agniswarar Temple is a Hindu sanctuary in the town of Kanjanur, 18 kilometers north-east of Kumbakonam. The directing god is Sukra Venus. In any case, the fundamental symbol in the sanctuary is that of "Agniswarar" or Shiva. In concordance with the Saivite conviction that Shiva is all-swarming, Sukra is accepted to be situated inside the stomach of the symbol of Shiva.
