About 2 km from Shimla there is a famous Jakhoo Hill, at an altitude of about 2455 m on top of sea level which is the peak in the area, with a magnificent view of Shimla. The ancient Lord Hanuman temple at the top of Jakhoo hill. One can easily reach from Ridge Road near Church by walking for about an hour.
The Jakhu or popularly known as jakhoo Temple is an ancient temple which is dedicated to the Hindu God Lord Hanuman. This temple holds the footprints of Lord Hanuman. This temple is located in jakhoo hill which is about 3 km from the Ridge. This temple offers a wonderful view of the Shivalik Mountains.
The Sanjauli is the Highest peak in Shimla. One can find many monkeys in this area.These monkeys are fed by the visitors. It is advised not to feed the monkeys to avoid potential dangers.
