About House Of Jagat Seth

The Jagat Seths were a rich business and Money bank family in Murshidabad, Bengal amid the season of Nawab Siraj-ud-Daula. The Jagat Seth line has been a most distinguished Qswal Jain group of Gailara gotra of India having remarkable accomplishments and impact in political, religious and business circles. It is said that Gailara gotra had its birthplace from Khichi Gahlot Rajputs in 1495. One Girdhar Singh Gahlot was enlisted into Jainism by Jain holy person Jinhans Suriji. The Gailara gotra appeared after the name of his child Gailaji. Hiranand a precursor of the Jagat Seths was constrained to leave Nagore their local place in Marwar for a livlihood somewhere else. With the endowments of a Jain holy person he moved to Bengal.
