The Hidimba Devi Temple is located in the snow capped Hills of Manali. It is a uniquely designed shrine, where the main deity is Hadimba devi, the wife of Bhima and mother of Ghatotkacha. The temple is surrounded by dense cedar forests. The temple is built on a rock, which is said to be in the image of the goddess herself.
The construction of the temple is contrary to the conventional designs of temples and is characterized by wooden doorways, walls and cone shaped roof. The wooden doors show the images of Goddess Durga. The base of the temple is made of whitewashed stonework. There is also a temple dedicated to Ghatotkacha in the vicinity of the temple.
