Hatkatro Khamb

Hatkatro Khamb is in a similar territory where Christians hold reasonable for Xavier whom they regard as a Saint. This column is standing even today as an observer of outrageous abuse by Portuguese rulers, of Hindus in Goa, yet it is not doing so good today. The state of this 'Hatkatro Khaamb' is extremely disgraceful. The two chains on its sides have been hauled out and taken away by somebody.

There is no fence around this 'khaamb' for its security. No barricade has been put there clarifying history of this 'khaamb'. A few people battled against despot Portuguese administration with valor. Their several relatives are living in Goa even today, though some of them have settled in different states subsequent to losing everything in such battle. These families settled in different states still feel near Goa.
