About Do Drul Chorten

Basically, a stupa, Do Drul Chorten nestles in Gangtok . It is located at a shot distance from Namgyal Institute of Tibetology. Situated on a hillock, this stupa has a golden dome. This dome is quite popular and significant in entire Gangtok. This dome is said to be seen from far off places too.

This place doesn't have admission fees, but this well-built establishment can accommodate roughly 700 monks at a particular time. After the death of Trulshig, Lama Dohrubchen controlled this structure by preaching his ideologies at the premises. Surrounded by 108 prayer wheels, this is one of the most unique and beautiful stupas of India.
