About Chet Singh Ghat

Chet Singh Ghat is a witness to the fierce ancient conflict came about among the British troupes and navy of Chet Singh in 1781. It is an ancient fortified ghat. The region has witnessed a fierce conflict between the troops of Warren Hastings and Chet Singh in 1781. A.D. The citadel and ghat has been taken from British by way of Maharaja Prabhu Narayan Singh within the later half of 19th century.
Originally, this Ghat was know at ‘Khirki Ghat. Now it has four components known as Cheta Singh, Niranjani, Nirrvani and Shivala. Ghat has 3 Shiva Temple belonging to 18th century till first half of the 20th century. It changed into culturally end important. The famous Budhwa Mangal festival which turned into celebrated for seven days have been organised right here. Due to sharp present day of Ganga people keep away from bathing right here.
This Ghat has been rejuvenated through state govt. In 1958. The Chet Singh Ghat is also called ‘Khirki’ Ghat and is now divided into four parts which might be, now-a-days, called Chet Singh, Niranjani, Nirrvani and Shivala. Its religious and cultural significance may be easily understood by using the fact that well-known seven days long Budhwa Mangal pageant is prepared right here.
