About Buttress Of The Church Of Santa Monica

Following quite a while of careful reclamation work, the 450-year-old Church of Santa Monica at Old Goa will be opened to the general population on Friday. The formal opening will be done by Archbishop of Goa and Daman, Filipe Neri Ferraro.
The congregation, some portion of the Convent of Santa Monica, Asia's first and the biggest Convent in Old Goa and furthermore a State-secured landmark, has been reestablished by the Museum of Christian Art Goa MCAG with money related help from the Goa Directorate of Archives and Archeology.
Through the MCAG, the Archdiocese looked for specialized help identified with preservation from engineer Ketak Nachinolkar and two all inclusive prestigious workmanship restorers, the late Miguel Mateus and Jose Pestana of Portugal.
