Sarahan was the capital of leaders of previous Bushahr State. Bushahr administration prior used to control the state from Kamroo.
It is trusted that the nation of Kinnaur was the Kailash said in Puranas, the dwelling place Shiva. Later Raja Ram Singh made Rampur as the capital. With its capital at Sonitpur this previous regal state was stretched out up to whole territory of Kinnaur where for some of the time Lord Shiva camouflaged himself as Kirata.
