About Erkrath
Erkrath is a metropolis inside the district of Mettmann, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany Erkrath is located at the river Düssel, at once east of Düsseldorf and west of Wuppertal, near the famous Neandertal. It has two stations, Erkrath station, that's served by way of Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn line S 8, and Erkrath Nord station, which is served by S-Bahn line S 28, both at 20 minute durations. In that part of Neandertal, that is positioned in Erkrath, in the summer of 1856, quarry employees determined the fossilised stays of what have become known as the Neanderthal guy or Homo Neanderthalensis in Feldhof cave.
The call Erkrath become first noted in 1148. Erkrath received city rights in 1966. In 1975, the municipality of Hochdahl became incorporated into Erkrath. As properly its former borough Unterbach was incorporated into Düsseldorf. Only a part of Unterbach referred to as Unterfeldhaus remained as now a borough of its own with Erkrath. Erkrath these days has 3 local parts: Erkrath, Hochdahl and Unterfeldhaus.
