About Le Puy Cathedral

Le Puy Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic church situated in Le Puy-en-Velay, Auvergne, France. The house of prayer is a national landmark. It has been a focal point of journey in its own privilege since before the season of Charlemagne, just as shaping piece of the journey course to Santiago de Compostela. Since 1998 it has been a piece of a multi-area UNESCO World Heritage Site along France's Santiago journey courses.

The cathedral forms the most astounding purpose of the city, ascending from the foot of the Rocher Corneille. Developed over hundreds of years, it contains engineering of each period from the 5th century to the 15th, which gives it an individual appearance. The main part of development, be that as it may, dates from the primary portion of the 12th century.

The cathedral became very early on a centre of the cult of the bat a focal point of the clique of Our Lady and a position of journey—Charlemagne made the journey to Le Puy twice—which brought it incredible riches and impact. Its fortunes got away from the assaults of war more than once throughout the century until the French Revolution, when all were demolished, including the black statue of Our Lady of Le Puy which had been an endowment of Saint Louis.
