About Castle Annecy

The Chateau d'Annecy is a restored castle which overwhelms the old French town of Annecy in the Haute-Savoie departement. It was purchased by the town, reestablished and changed into a historical center, le musee-manor d'Annecy. The chateau is recorded as a landmark historique by the French Ministry of Culture since 1959. The manor was worked between the twelfth and sixteenth hundreds of years. It filled in as the living arrangement of the Counts of Geneva and the Dukes of Genevois-Nemours.

A few times the casualty of flames, the chateau was relinquished in the seventeenth century and later repaired to fill in as a garisson huts until 1947. The town of Annecy procured the chateau in 1953, reestablished it with the assistance of Monuments historiques and introduced a historical center there. The Tour de la Reine is the most established piece of the palace, dating from the twelfth century. Its dividers are more than 4 m thick. At the base of the patio, the pinnacle and the Logis Perriere date from the fifteenth century.

Other prominent parts of the mansion are: the Vieux Logis, the Logis Nemours, the Logis Neuf. From the stronghold porch there is a view over the old town with its restricted avenues and embellished rooftops. Of specific note is the Museum of Alpine Popular Art with ious provincial figures and works of art. There is an imperative accumulation of vernacular furniture, dating from the fifteenth century onwards, etched protests, photos and models of Alpine chalets.
