About Bethune
Bethune is a city in northern France sub prefecture of the Pas de Calais branch. During the War of the Spanish Succession in July August 1710, Bethune became besieged by using forces of the Grand Alliance. The town ultimately surrendered after an energetic defense conducted through Antoine de Vauban 1654 to 1731 a relative of the widely recognized navy engineer Vauban.
