Bethune

Bethune is a city in northern France sub prefecture of the Pas de Calais branch. During the War of the Spanish Succession in July August 1710, Bethune became besieged by using forces of the Grand Alliance. The town ultimately surrendered after an energetic defense conducted through Antoine de Vauban 1654 to 1731 a relative of the widely recognized navy engineer Vauban. In 1914 to 1918, Bethune end up an crucial railway junction and command centre for the British Canadian Corps and Indian Expeditionary Force, in addition to the 33 Casualty Station until December 1917.
