About Kolding
Kolding is a Danish seaport placed at the head of Kolding Fjord in the Region of Southern Denmark. It is the seat of Kolding Municipality. It is a transportation, commercial, and manufacturing centre, and has numerous commercial groups, mainly geared towards shipbuilding. The production of equipment and textiles and livestock export are other economically sizeable sports. With a populace of 90,066, the Kolding municipality is the 7th largest in Denmark. The metropolis itself has a population of 58,021 and is also the seventh largest city in Denmark. The town is a part of the Triangle Region, which incorporates the neighbouring cities of Fredericia and Vejle.
In the Battle of Kolding, fought on 25 December 1658, the allied Polish and Danish forces beneath hetman Stefan Czarniecki defeated the Swedish forces of Charles X Gustav of Sweden. A battle among German and Danish forces occurred close to the metropolis on 23 April 1849 for the duration of the First War of Schleswig. On 3 November 2004, the N. P. Johnsen's Fireworks Factory in the suburb of Seest exploded. One firefighter died, eighty five people were injured, and around 2000 human beings had been evacuated and a number of them misplaced their houses at some stage in this disaster on this suburb of Kolding.
