Siliguri is a city in the upper east Indian province of West Bengal. It sits in the lower regions of the Himalayas, encompassed by tea gardens. Appropriately named as the passage of North East India, it is the travel city to the transcending Himalayan scopes of Gangtok, Mirik, Kalimpong, Darjeeling and Kurseong inside India and furthermore to neighboring nations like Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Myanmar.
It's home toward the North Bengal Science Center, with its computerized planetarium and model T. rex. Toward the east is verdant Surya Sen Park, named after an autonomy extremist, and the gigantic, white-domed ISKCON Temple. More remote north, the Salugara Monastery is a bright Buddhist place of worship.
