You will be met at the International Airport of Kilimanjaro upon your arrival at 09:05 am. After your safari briefing, you will drive towards Lake Manyara National Park through Arusha town. You will have a stop in Arusha town for currency exchange and a quick freshening up. Later on, with picnic lunch, you will continue with your trip to Lake Manyara National Park for your half day game drive in the park. Large flocks of pink flamingos along the lake are some of the highlights of this park. The national park is also home to the unique tree-climbing lions of Lake Manyara, which you’ll have the chance to see lounging in the high tree branches. Nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment, the park is recognized for its incredible beauty. You can see many game animals such as buffalo, elephant, giraffe, impala, hippo and others. Early morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. This is an opportunity to see the predators coming back from hunting and also a chance to see early morning active animals. Later on you will return to your lodge for a leisurely breakfast. You may go back to continue with the game drive until afternoon when you return to your lodge for hot lunch. After lunch and depending on your energy, you may go for hiking around the famous Mto wa Mbu village and cultural tours around the village. Alternatively, you can visit the Ganeko hills near Karatu Village and its related areas. Later on you will retire for the night following dinner. Overnight at Serena Manyara.

After breakfast you start on your way to Serengeti National Park driving some 4 hours, but with plenty to see on the way! After stopping for a picnic lunch on a kopje (rock outcropping) it will be time to head further into the park begin your game drive. You pass through green savannah where elephants and giraffes roam, through a stretch of territory which is rarely visited by travelers, to reach central Serengeti. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds, you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many bird species. The name Serengeti comes from the Maasai word, “Siringet” referring to an endless plain. As you traverse the park you will see grazing zebras, antelopes and giraffes and sometimes some buffalos hiding in the bush. The South Serengeti ecosystem belongs partly to the Serengeti National park and partly to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After the game drive, you will head back to your luxury lodge at Serengeti Sopa. where you arrive in time for your dinner with assorted drinks Overnight in Sopa.

Early start today for a morning game drive to see nocturnal predators returning from their hunt and animals waking up in early morning light. You can take breakfast boxes with you and have a bush breakfast when the sun is up before you visit the interesting documentation center about Serengeti at Seronera. Return to your lodge for a relaxed lunch under the shade of an old acacia tree. We then go for evening game drive after resting for a while. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Sopa with all meals included plus assorted drinks.

It is always good to have an early morning game drive in the Serengeti. We drive early to catch the early morning atmosphere of the plains. You will return to your lodge for breakfast following which you will return to the park in search of wildebeest migration. The migration is dependent on the time of the year. For the month of July/August, the migration is more toward the northern part of Serengeti. Later in the afternoon we return to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Sopa, with all meals included plus assorted drinks.

With packed lunch boxes, you will leave the lodge in the morning for an entire day of game drives in Serengeti National park. There is an optional hot-air balloon (not included in the package cost) – which will take place in the morning, just as the sun rises. You’ll float in whichever direction the morning winds take you. Your pilot can precisely control the altitude of your balloon; at times he will ascend to 1000 feet or more to see the enormity and wonderful panorama of the Serengeti. After landing, you celebrate with a champagne and a full English breakfast prepared and served in the bush in ‘Out of Africa’ style. After breakfast you receive your Serengeti balloon certificate and drive back to your lodge or proceed with your day’s activities and game drives around the Serengeti. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodges with meal plus assorted drinks.

Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge 3

After breakfast you’ll depart Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, On the way you will stop at the Olduvai Gorge where anthropologists Louis and Mary Leakey made many significant discoveries, contributing to the theory that human life originated in Africa. Upon arrival at Ngorongoro Conservation area, you will visit the Masai Boma / Masai Village for your wonderful experience of Masai people’s way of life in their natural settings. After having done with the Masai Village tour, it will be late afternoon and you can go for a nature walk on the northern Ngorongoro crater rim. The area is inhabited by buffaloes, elephants, baboons, monkeys and different species of birds. Escorted by an armed ranger you follow animal paths through dense bush. You then drive back to your lodge at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight with meals on full board basis (plus assorted drinks)

After breakfast, it’ll be time to begin saying goodbye to Africa, as you drive from the crater to Kilimanjaro International Airport via Arusha town to catch your flight.
