Day 01: Arrival Chennai – Mahabalipuram (70 kms/ 02 hrs drive)
Arrive at Chennai: - On arrival at Chennai you will be welcome by Trojan Holiday’s travel assistant and later get transferred to Mahabalipuram. Reach there and check in at the hotel. In the afternoon go for sightseeing. Mahabalipuram - This is a small, quiet seaside resort with a unique 7th-century Shore Temple, a lovely beach and some of the most beautiful rock-cut temples in the world. Situated on the shore of the Bay of Bengal, Mahabalipuram was already a famous seaport in the 1st century AD. This town was a workshop for temple building. Visit the seven pagoda-style Shore temples, lashed by the waves of the sea and the seven rathas or temple chariots, a group of monolithic monuments & animal figures carved out of solid rock, the earliest known examples of Dravidian architecture. They were constructed in a single century-long burst of creative enthusiasm, starting in the reign of Narasimhavarman 1 (AD 630-68). End the visit by photography of the beautiful Shore temples at sunset.
Day 02: Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry (140 kms/ 3 hrs drive)
After breakfast drive to Pondicherry which carries a strong whiff of the French presence in India. This erstwhile French colony on the east coast of South India merged with the rest of the country in 1954. Legend says that Pondicherry is the place where St.Agasthaya settled down, visit Aurbindo Ashram, the city of dawn, which is 10kms north of Pondicherry. This ashram promotes Aurbindo's ideas in bringing about a synthesis of Yoga and modern science, so as to unite the spirit and matter. After lunch at hotel, visit Auroville - a unique experiment in international living and in creating a new environment where men and women of all nationalities live together in harmony, Night stay in Pondicherry.
Day 03: Pondicherry-Tanjore (150 kms/ 3 hrs drive)
After healthy breakfast in the morning check out from the hotel and proceed to Tanjore reach there in the afternoon and check in at the hotel, in the evening go for sightseeing of Tanjore where you will visit temples built during the 10th and 14th centuries. These later became a part of the Vijaynagar Kingdom, which subsequently passed into the hands of the Marathas and went to the British. The most famous landmark is the Brihadeshwara temple, which is now a world heritage site.
Come back to the hotel in the evening, overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast proceed to Madurai and transfer to hotel. The ancient city of Madurai, some 2600 years old is laid out in the banks of river Vaigai as a lotus flower with the Meenakshi temple in the centre. Afternoon city tour visiting - Meenakshi temple, King Tirumala's Palace, Great tank and Gandhi museum. Night stay in Madurai.
After healthy breakfast in the morning check out from the hotel and proceed to Munnar. The journey to Munnar is filled with amazing sights of Valara, Cheeyappara waterfalls, Karadippara view point, low flying clouds, dew drenched forests, & foggy valleys. After the awe-stuck drive from Cochin to Munnar, take rest on arrival at Munnar resort. In the evening go out for shopping, local sightseeing, and spend the time on leisure.
After breakfast, it is a tribute to fascinating attractions of Munnar beloved as the Kashmir of South India. The expedition to discover the heart of Munnar covers Mattupetty Lake, Kundale Lake, Rajamalai National Park, Echo Point, Mattupetty Dam, & Blossom Garden. The unique attractions of Munnar to witness are Tata Tea Museum, trekking at Anaimudi Peak, and spotting a Nilgiri Tahr (rare wild Goat) at Rajamalai National Park. Overnight stay at Munnar.
Day 07: Munnar - Alleppey Backwaters Magic (50 kms)
By road from Munnar to Alapuzzha: - On Arrival leave on your private houseboat and sail across on the Backwaters, an awesome region full of trenches, canals, lakes and inlets. Cruise on Kettuvallam: - The houseboats or "Kettuvallam" are lavish boats with lavishly designed rooms and attached bathrooms. You can sunbathe on the deck or watch the palm fringed sleepy villages from your cabins. Separated from the exotic sceneries it’s the life along the coast that adds a touch of exotica to this experience.
After healthy breakfast in the morning checkout from the houseboat and proceed to Cochin. A city tucked in the beauty of coconut palms and endless blue waters is one of the important towns in South India, with a natural Harbor. Cochin - Kochi (colonial name Cochin) is a vibrant city situated on the south-west coast of the Indian peninsula in the breathtakingly scenic and prosperous state of Kerala, hailed as 'God's Own Country'. Its strategic importance over the centuries is underlined by the sobriquet Queen of the Arabian Sea. Informally, Cochin is also referred to as the Gateway to Kerala.
After healthy breakfast in the morning check out from the hotel and proceed to airport to board your flight to Bangalore, Arrive Bangalore, get welcome by Trojan holidays representative and get transferred to your hotel.
