Kanchipuram in addition to spectacular temples is also popular for the silk saris, worn by the Indian woman. Our tour of the city will lead us to the famous Aurbindo Ashram, Auroville and Matri Mandir, all reminding us of the huge melting pot of cultures, traditions, architecture and foods. As we end our Pondicherry tour, we begin on a new journey to Thanjavur (Tanjore). In the ancient Chola dynasty, Tanjore was known for the Brahadeeswara temple, today a World Heritage site.

We will later depart for Trichy by road and cover a distance of 56 km in 1-hour. Trichy was a prominent city during the Chola reign. Once can admire the ancient imprints still visible in the unique citadel, temples and monuments. Briefly ruled by the Pallavas and Pandyas dynasties as well, the city holds their reminiscence as well. Undoubtedly, Trichy has been an important and famous town in state of Tamil Nadu since centuries. The afternoon in Trichy is dedicated to stunning Rock Fort Temple, built on the shores of River Kaveri. This landmark of the city is perched on a massive rocky outcrop at an altitude of 83 metres above sea level. Thayumanaswamy Temple is yet another spectacular temple dedicated to the Hindu god- Shiva. It houses a 100-pillar hall and Vimana covered with gold. On the southern side of the rock witness, the several wonderfully carved rock-cut cave temples of the Pallava period. Next, we will depart for the untouched and unique island of Srirangam. Return to Trichy for a restful sleep.
Madurai renowned for its Meenakshi Temple is the objective of our todays trip when we travel on road for 03 hours, covering a distance of 142 km, soon after breakfast. The city is famous for its unique and rich heritage, culture and historical background. Witness the evening ceremony at the Meenakshi Temple filled with lights, prayer chants and followers.
