Meals:Meals as per plan After arrival at the Delhi airport/railway station, board the designated vehicle and start your journey towards Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. This picturesque hill station once served as the summer retreat for the British, and now is a popular haunt for nature lovers and vacationers. After India got its independence, the town was made the capital of the state of Punjab, but later on it became the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Situated at an altitude of 2200 m above sea level, this hill town has a scenic landscape, comprising snow-clad mountain peaks, meandering streets, lush greenery with tall Pine and Deodar trees. Fondly called as the 'Queen of the Hills', this town has a mild climate across the year; however, the temperatures come down drastically during winter months. Even though it is primarily a summer resort, this hill station receives a heavy influx of tourists even in winters, especially for winter sports like skiing, tobogganing and ice skating. On arrival in Shimla, check-in at the hotel and rest for some time. Thereafter, spend the rest of the day in sightseeing. During the sightseeing tour, visit the top attractions of this hill station, such as Viceregal Lodge, Kali Bari Temple, Jakhoo Temple, and Himachal State Museum and Library. Alternatively, you can spend time at the popular Mall Road to shop for decorative items, pashmina shawls, handmade items and winter clothes. There are a number of handicrafts emporiums located on this famous street. Return to the hotel in the evening and stay overnight.
