About Bolivar Square

Bolí Square has been at the focal point of the nation's history for a considerable length of time. It used to be an open bazaar and positively trending market, in addition to other things, and a wide assortment of social and get-togethers are as yet held here.

Structures, for example, the Palacio Liévano, the Capitol, and the Cathedral casing this open space, which is enhanced with a huge number of brilliant lights each year for Christmas. The standard place to begin finding Bogotá is Plaza de Bolí, the core of the first town.

Amidst the square is a bronze statue of Simón Bolí cast in 1846, crafted by Italian craftsman Pietro Tenerani. This was the principal open landmark raised in the city.

In the inside, next to the 1846 bronze statue of Bolí, are herds of pigeons that plunge bomb anybody inside 50m of the square.
