About Wellington Country Museum & Archives

It is a National Historic Site. It is situated in a building that stands as the most established residual House of Industry in Canada. It was worked in 1877 as a "Poor House" or place of asylum for poor people, destitute, and down and out individuals in Wellington County. It worked as a Poor House and Industrial Farm until the point when 1947 when it turned into a County Home for the Aged.

In 1974 it was changed into the Wellington County Museum and Archives. Another Archives wing opened in 2010.The Museum recounts the stories of the general population and spots of Wellington County through Exhibits showed in nine displays. The Archives includes a roomy open perusing room with microfilm peruser/printers, open PCs and free Wi-Fi, and free access to Ancestry.ca - everything for the family antiquarian or neighborhood history scientist.
