The Plains of Abraham is a 1.5 mi long and 0.5 m wide field between the Citadelle of Quebec and the Quebec City dividers over the Saint Lawrence River. It is the memorable site of the Battle of the Plains of Abraham, which was battled in September 1759 between the British and French armies.The British won the fight in a half hour, in the end taking control of all of Canada.
The Plains are presently a recreation center utilized for outside shows, celebrations, games, and amusement.Battlefields Park, which includes the Plains of Abraham, was created in 1908 to mark the city’s 300th anniversary. This 98-hectare park is a vast playground for outdoor enthusiasts, attracting cross-country skiers, snowshoers, and skaters who throng to the refrigerated ice oval.
