About Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre

The biggest accumulation of marine reptile fossils in Canada is under a hour and a half south of Winnipeg at the Canadian Fossil Discovery Center in Morden, Manitoba and it's your chance to see probably the most stunning and brutal toothed mammoths to ever exist. Open seven days seven days a visit to the CFDC exhibits the ponder that is the Guinness Record holding 'Bruce' the mosasaur – at in excess of 13 meters in length this T-Rex of the ocean devoured everything in its way and now it is sitting tight for you to get very close.

All that you see at the CFDC is 100 percent Manitoba and consistently our Fossil Crew of field specialists acquires another fortune trove of fossils simply sitting tight for you. The CFDC is the ideal place to spend a day, an end of the week, or seven days; all alone, with a companion or the entire family.

There’s programming for children, VIP museum tours that take you behind the scenes and much more just a short drive south of Winnipeg. Once here you can enjoy the beauty of historic Morden – a true oasis city on the prairie with fantastic shops, music festivals and restaurants as well as a great beach and campground at Lake Minnewasta and only minutes from the Pembina Valley Provincial Park – home to spectacular raptors including Bald Eagles and Red Tail Hawk, great for hiking, photography and bird watching.
