About Amarnath
Amarnath is one of the most renowned Pilgrimage center in whole of India. The place has some supernatural factor where the Shivaling or the symbol of Lord Shiva which is worshipped is formed naturally of an ice structure at a certain period of time mainly in the time slot of May to August.
It is to be believed the amaranth cave the main and pivotal attraction spot in Amarnath is of five hundred years old and according to mythology this was the place where Lord Shiva preached Goddess Parvati about the secret of immortality. One can see two more lingams made of ice just beside the ice Shivaling which is considered to be the of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Parvati. The place is heavily secured under Indian Army Force so one requires prior permission to visit the place.

We were 38 members group lead by Sri Sathish Kamath, Katapady, Udupi, Karnataka. Most of the members were senior citizens, both ladies and gents.
