About The National Shrine
America's first church building is formally called the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, most normally known as the Baltimore Basilica. The church building was planned by Benjamin Henry Latrobe who is thought to be the "Father of American Architecture. Development on the house of prayer was finished in 1821 and was sanctified on May 31st 1821 by Archbishop Ambrose Marechal. The building experienced a mass redesign that was finished in 2006 and fetched the Catholic church $34 million. A visit around this delightful building is very suggested. It is one of the famous place.
