About Snowflake Arizona Temple
The Snowflake Arizona Temple is the 108th working sanctuary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mormon pioneers initially settled Snowflake, Arizona in 1878 at the demand of LDS Church president Brigham Young. The town of Snowflake was named after William J. Drop and Erastus Snow, two of the congregation's initial pioneers who regulated colonization of the zone.
The Snowflake Arizona Temple serves 35,000 individuals, huge numbers of them relatives of the principal pioneers to the region. The sanctuary is determined to a glade that has turned out to be known as "Sanctuary Hill." About eight feet was expelled from the highest point of the meadow so the two-level sanctuary could be manufactured. The lower level is in part set into the glade. There are around 9,000 individuals who live in the Snowflake region, however in excess of 94,000 individuals went to the sanctuary open house amid February 2002. LDS Church president Gordon B. Hinckley devoted the Snowflake Arizona Temple in four sessions on March 3, 2002.
The outside of the sanctuary is done with two tones of cleaned Empress White and Majestic Gray rock from China, like that of the Fukuoka Japan Temple. A great part of the furniture has a pioneer watch keeping in mind the zone's pioneer family line.
