About Monte Sano State Park
Monte Sano State Park is a publicly park and mountaintop retreat encompassing land on the eastern part of the best and slants of Monte Sano Mountain on the east side of Huntsville, Alabama. The state park has 1930s-period, Civilian Conservation Corps– manufactured rural houses, climbing trails and outing territories with picturesque disregards, and current campgrounds. It is overseen by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. The name "Monte Sano" gets from the Spanish for "pile of wellbeing" and is the eponymous name of the mountain that is the primary component of the recreation center. The name mirrors the nineteenth century convention of sending diphtheria, cholera and yellow fever sufferers to withdraws on the mountain.
The park Activities and amenities:
- Medium-term stays: The recreation center has 14 lodges built in the Arts and Crafts style, with hand-created stone chimneys and unique wood flooring. In expansion, the campground has current campgrounds for RVs and crude campgrounds for tents.
- Picnicking: The outing region disregards a beautiful valley and is neighboring a cutting edge play area for youngsters.
- Trails: The recreation center highlights more than 20 miles of climbing and 14 miles of mountain biking trails.
- Stargazing: Von Braun Astronomical Society runs the planetarium and observatory.
