Martin Wildlife Park Trail

The Martin Wildlife Park offers excellent offices for investigating a broad backwater of Neely Henry Lake, on the Coosa River in the City of Gadsden. Notwithstanding a mobile trail along the shoreline, a system of footpaths enables guests to enter the 300-section of land lake, and even to visit a progression of lush islands arranged along the mouth of Black Creek, giving heavenly perspectives of the birdlife of this rich and changed environment. This piece of the lake has very much lush fringes, and in addition broad wetlands and low-water mudflats. In winter, Bald Eagles are semi-regulars.

Look for them taking off and angling here, and search for Osprey from March to November. In spring and summer, a close-by settling state of Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, and Black-delegated Night-Herons gives additional intrigue. Quantities of Green Herons likewise settle along the shore line. From the primary passage and stopping region on Black Creek Parkway, a 1/4 mile trail gives magnificent shoreline birding and leads onto the system of footpaths stretching out finished the lake. The promenades give the best birding chances to waterfowl, for example, American Coots, Pied-charged Grebes, Double-peaked Cormorants, Gadwalls, Hooded Mergansers, Ring-necked Ducks, Lesser Scaup, Mallards, and Canada Geese.
