About Winchester Cathedral

Winchester Cathedral - based on the site of the first seventh exceptionally old Minster, the establishments of which can at present be seen today - goes back to the eleventh century and has been changed ordinarily since. Inside features incorporate the extraordinary mix of Romanesque areas of divider 1093 and late-Gothic fan vaulting 1394 in its amazing 12-bayed nave and transepts, alongside a progression of bronze statues 1635 of James I and Charles I. Different highlights of note incorporate the superb eleventh century fashioned iron Pilgrim's Gate and the tombs of a few Saxon lords, including Alfred the Great
Wall paintings from the sixteenth century enrich the Lady Chapel, and the thirteenth century sketches on the vaulting of the Chapel of the Guardian Angels give cases of the first embellishment.
