Swift Valley Nature Reserve

This save is a meadow with an articulated edge and wrinkle character. There are hedgerows, forest and wetland adjoining the Waterway Quick and a neglected trench.

With conventional field, little woods, supports and arranged wetlands the hold welcomes bunches of untamed life to make its home here. The Waterway Quick keeps running close by with two pools, a damp floodplain and a neglected arm of the Oxford Channel include encouraging interest.The forest is chiefly oak trees with snowdrop and daffodil offering lovely springtime shows. Wetter territories are perfect for birch and willow trees.

Fiery remains and willow blend with the hawthorn hedgerows. The wetland natural surroundings of the save are perfect for some dragonfly and damselfly species, with little red-peered toward damselfly picking Quick Valley – its first province site – in 2004. Broadly rare trooper and longhorn creepy crawlies have even been recorded. Butterflies are likewise ample in the prairie, particularly tans and captains. Little copper and holly blue show up, while little tortoiseshell, peacock and red chief of naval operations advantage from every one of the brambles. The chimneysweeper moth breeds here, laying its eggs on the pignut where fat caterpillars later rise.

The trench is beautiful to visit in summer and yellow water-lily, watercress, and celery-leaved buttercup savor developing in its sloppy edges
