In 1539 two men, Richard Willes and William Morcote mutually acquired the land that was currently a homestead.
On the town side of the recreation center is the Leisure Center which gloats two swimming pools , a high impact exercise studio and a rec center. Angling is permitted on the River Leam which goes through the recreation center. The recreation center is predominantly level however there is a slope with a reference point at its highest point from which there are fine perspectives of south Warwickshire. At the base of the slope is the Newbold Comym Arms, changed over from the ranch house to a bar.
