About Harpenden
Harpenden is a town in the St Albans City region in the area of Hertfordshire, England. The town's populace is a little more than 30,000. Harpenden is a worker town, with an immediate rail association through Central London and property costs well over twofold the national average. Geographically it is situated between and a short separation from two substantially bigger neighbors: Luton town toward the north and the city of St Albans toward the south.
It is flanked by the towns of Redbourn toward the west and Wheathampstead toward the east. There is proof of pre-Roman Belgic agriculturists in the territory. In 1867 a few things were discovered including a bronze shield, rams-head formed mounts, and a bronze bowl. There are Roman stays in land around Harpenden, for example the site of a catacomb in the recreation center at Rothamsted. A tumulus close to the waterway Lea was opened during the 1820s and it contained a stone coffin of Romano-Celtic root.
Five articles dating from around 150 AD, were inside incorporating a glass container with a Mediterranean stamp and samian product dishes utilized for libations. Up to the 13th century the zone of the ward comprised of forest with little villages and single farmsteads around cleared regions called "End" or "Green" and there are 19 Ends and 18 Greens in territory of Harpenden and Wheathampstead areas. Huge numbers of these still survive today.
