About Dover Castle
It was begun in 1168 by Henry II on the site of defenses that were at that point around 1,000 years of age. The focal Norman keep, worked in 1180, houses the vast majority of the mansion's displays, incorporating the Great Tower with its luxuriously outfitted chambers.
