About Diocese of Southwell

It is a Church of England bishopric in the Province of York. It is going to the Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham.

The see covers the greater part of the English province of Nottinghamshire and part of South Yorkshire.

The house of God, Southwell Minster, is in the residential community of Southwell.

The bishopric is circumscribed by those of Derby, Leicester, Lincoln, and Sheffield.

The diocesan priest is Paul Williams, he is helped by Tony Porter, the Bishop suffragan of Sherwood, whose See of Sherwood was made in 1965.

Elective episcopal oversight for areas in the see which dismiss the service of ministers who are ladies is given by the commonplace episcopal guest PEV the Bishop suffragan of Beverley, Glyn Webster.

He is authorized as a privileged right-hand cleric of the ward with a specific end goal to encourage his work there.
