About Bodleian Library

The Bodleian Library is the fundamental research library of the University of Oxford, and is one of the most established libraries in Europe. With more than 12 million things, it is the second-biggest library in Britain after the British Library. Under the Legal Deposit Libraries Act 2003 it is one of six lawful store libraries for works distributed in the United Kingdom and under Irish Law it is qualified for ask for a duplicate of each book distributed in the Republic of Ireland. Referred to Oxford researchers as "Bodley" or "the Bod", it works primarily as a kind of perspective library and, all in all, reports may not be expelled from the perusing rooms.

All schools of the University of Oxford have their own particular libraries, which in ious cases were built up a long time before the establishment of the Bodleian, and all of which remain totally autonomous of the Bodleian. They do, be that as it may, take an interest in OLIS Oxford Libraries Information System, the Bodleian Libraries' online association list. A great part of the library's files were digitized and put online for free in 2015.
