About Kizil Kule

The Kizil Kule is a historical tower in the Turkish city of Alanya. The building is thought to be the image of the city, and is even utilized on the city's banner. Development of the building started in the early rule of the Anatolian Seljuq Sultan Ala promotion Din Kay Qubadh I and was finished in 1226. The sultan brought the expert draftsman Ebu Ali Reha from Aleppo, Syria, to Alanya to finish the building. The octagonal red block tower ensures the Tersane shipyard which dates from 1221.
The name gets from the more red shading block he utilized as a part of its construction. It stays one of the best cases of medieval military design, and is the best protected Seljuk working in the city. In the same way as other structures in the city, the Tower flies a Turkish Flag from its crenelations. In 1979 the city opened the Ethnographic Museum of Alanya within the pinnacle.
