Senior citizens in Delhi now can go on a free pilgrimage tour under the ‘ Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana ’ launched by the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Under this scheme of free pilgrimage tour, senior citizens can go on a teerth yatra pilgrimage for two night-three days with all the expenses borne by the Delhi government. As per the plans, the free pilgrimage tour will cater to 1100 senior citizens every year and along with them they will be allowed to take along one attendant aged 18 years or above and their expenditure will also be borne by the government. Not just that, pilgrims will be travelling in AC buses through DTTDC coach tours. Whereas boarding and lodging cost will also be paid for all the pilgrims. How to enroll for free pilgrimage tour: -Applicant needs to give a self-attested certificate of that, they have not availed the service of free pilgrimage tour in the past. -The application can be filled online or at MLA’s office or office of Tirth Yatra Committee. -The selection of the pilgrims will be done by a lucky draw and a total of 77,000 residents, 1,100 senior citizens from each of the 70 assembly constituencies in Delhi, will be selected every year. -Those who will be selected for the free pilgrimage tour will also get covered with an insurance of 1 lakh.
