About Santa Maria de les Franqueses
Santa Maria de les Franqueses is a church inside the municipality of Balaguer d a cultural asset of country wide interest. Three kilometers from Balaguer and at the proper bank of the River Segre the remains of the oldest monastery in the city are built. At present, the church is only preserved, in negative condition and destined for agricultural uses. Inside there are stays of a recent production of four flooring, which served as housing and agricultural warehouse. Apart from this creation, the authentic Romanesque structure is discovered.
