About Oliva
Oliva is a municipality in the comarca of La Safor in the Valencian Community, Spain. To its east lie 10 kilometres of shoreline and beaches fronting the Mediterranean Sea, and eight kilometers to the south is Gandia town. The Passeig runs thru the centre of the town, and features a market every Friday. On the left facet of the Marina seaside is Kiko seaside. The blue flagged seashores of Oliva stretch for 7 kilometres; many comprise sand dunes Oliva has one of the province's largest and most colourful Moors and Christians Festivals in the area. In the vintage town there are church buildings, Sant Roc and Santa Maria la Major. Sant Roc dates from the 18th–19th centuries, and Santa Maria from the 17th–18th centuries.
At the top of the hill inside the antique metropolis is Santa Anna Castle, constructed in the sixteenth century. In the centre of the village is a Roman kiln situated under one of the blocks of apartments on Santissim avenue. Oliva's Old Town has historic streets which see diverse "fiestas" celebrated all through the year: the falles "Fiesta" in March, the Moors and Christians in July and Setmana Santa. People can be visible taking walks the Paseig, sampling tapas, consuming coffee or wine and in reality relaxing with circle of relatives and pals. Every Friday there may be a marketplace with a plethora of sparkling, nearby produce and wares.
