Convento de San Esteban

The Convento de San Esteban is a Dominican religious community arranged in the Plaza del Concilio de Trento in the city of Salamanca. The veneer involves the front of the congregation and the contiguous religious community colonnade. The front the congregation is one of the best instances of the Plateresque style. It is imagined as an outside reredos, as a triumphal curve under whose barrel vault unfurls the plenteous improvement normal for this style. The affliction of St. Stephen is highlighted in the tympanum, with a calvary above, the two reliefs executed by Juan Antonio Ceroni in the mid 17^th century.

The porch, made out of curves, is roused by Italian renaissance loggias, its plain ornamentation standing out from the embellishing extravagance of the congregation veneer. Development of the congregation initiated under the modeler Juan de Alava in 1524, trailed by Brother Martin de Santiago, who was prevailing by Rodrigo Gil de Hontanon. It was blessed in 1610. It has a Latin cross arrangement with a solitary nave, with the choir over a fragmented curve at the foot of the congregation. The styles present are late Gothic in the lower parts of the working to the Renaissance in the vault and presbytery.
