Franciscan Church of the Annunciation

Famous among locals and visitors, the Franciscan Monastery and the Church of the Annunciation are the two structures contributing most altogether to the presence of the Presernov trg square, the focal square in Ljubljana. Until the finish of the eighteenth century, the cloister was the home of Augustine priests. The Church of the Annunciation was worked in the vicinity of 1646 and 1660.

Its facade, finished around 1700, remade in the nineteenth century and revamped in 1993, is embellished with a copper statue of St. Mary, Ljubljana's biggest Madonna statue. The congregation has a fantastic principle holy place worked by the stone carver Francesco Robba amidst the eighteenth century.
