About Cathedral of Christ the Saviour

The Cathedral of Christ the Savior in the Russian city of Kaliningrad is the biggest church of Kaliningrad Oblast. It is the overwhelming working of the internal city and is arranged close to the focal square, called Ploshchad Pobedy. The Cathedral's development was finished on 10 September 2006. A little wooden house of prayer that filled in as the first love space still stands adjacent. The Russian Orthodox Cathedral of Christ the Savior was composed by draftsman is Oleg Kopylov. Remaining at 70 meters high, the sanctuary was worked in the style of chapel design in the duchy of Vladimir-Suzdal. The upper church of the Resurrection was blessed on September 10, 2006 by Patriarch Alexy II, and planned to match with the twentieth commemoration of the opening of the primary Orthodox church in Kaliningrad.
The lower church for the sake of the Holy Face of Our Savior was sanctified on September 27, 2007 by Metropolitan of Smolensk and Kaliningrad Kirill. The "Memel" iconostasis made amid the Seven Years' War for the Russian army in Memel was along these lines introduced here. The lower sanctuary is a sanctuary of military grandness and is committed to the memory of the Russian fighters who kicked the bucket in the Seven Years' War, the Napoleonic Wars, World War I and World War II in East Prussia and the present Kaliningrad Oblast .
