Toplita

Toplita is a municipality in Harghita County, Romania. The settlement has had a couple of name modifications: Taplocza, Toplicza, Gyergyo-Toplicza, from February 3, 1861 Olah-Toplicza, or "Romanian Toplita", then from January 1, 1907 Maroshevíz, until 1918, while it received the Romanian call Toplita Romana. Both the Romanian and the Hungarian name mean "hot water spring; the primary is a Romanian. The location turned into Simon Ban's property till 1228, then exceeded directly to the Banffy circle of relatives, who controlled to maintain their sizable residences until 1945.
