Tibanesti

Tibanesti is a commune in Iasi County, Moldova, Romania, which includes the villages Glodenii Gandului, Griesti, Jigoreni, Rasboieni, Recea, Tungauti, Tibanesti and Valenii. At the end of the 19th century, the commune become part of the Fundules of Vaslui County and consisted of the villages Tibanesti, Jigorani, Garbesti and Lingurari, with a total of 1216 population.

There were two churches and a school in the commune. At that time, the commune of Tangauti, consisting of the villages Tangauti, Griesti, Recea, Ciornei Mill, Panoasa and Poiana Manastirii, with a total of 1323 population, changed into also functioning inside the equal place at the modern territory of the commune. Right here had been church buildings and a college. The Socec Yearbook of 1925 information the commune in the Negresti net of the equal county; Tibanesti commune had 2031 inhabitants in the villages Gaureni, Garbesti, Jigoreni and Tibanesti; and the commune Tungujei had 1190 inhabitants within the villages of Griesti, Moara Ciornei, Panoasa, Recea and Tungujei.
