About The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a monument in Warsaw, Poland, dedicated to the unknown soldiers who have given their lives for Poland. It is one of numerous such national tombs of questions that were raised after World War I, and the most imperative such landmark in Poland. The landmark, situated at Pisudski Square, is the main surviving piece of the Saxon Palace that involved the spot until World War II. Since 2 November 1925 the tomb houses the unidentified body of a youthful officer who fell amid the Defense of Lwow. From that point forward, earth from ious combat zones where Polish fighters have battled has been added to the urns housed in the surviving mainstays of the Saxon Palace.

The Tomb is always lit by an interminable fire and helped by a watch post by the Representative Company of the Polish Army. It is there that most authority military remembrances occur in Poland and where outside delegates lay wreaths when going to Poland. The changing of the watch happens on the hour of consistently day by day and this happens 365 days multi year. On November 2, 1925, the pine box was conveyed to Warsaw's St. John's Cathedral, where a Mass was held.
